Jefferson Parish schools to sell $27.5M in bonds for upgrade

The Jefferson Parish School Board plans to sell $27.5 million in bonds next month to pay for an upgrade of the wireless network used by its schools. It's the final portion of a $50 million package dedicated to upgrading the technological capabilities of the school system.The New Orleans Advocate reports the upgrade will bring the wireless system used by teachers and students up to date by increasing its speed and eliminating issues like spotty coverage from classroom to classroom.
