Jetstar, Hawaiian feel impact of weaker $A as travellers switch destinations

Jetstar and Hawaiian Airlines have experienced a dip in demand for flights to the United States as the prospect of a more expensive holiday due to the strength of the greenback encourages travellers to switch to cheaper destinations in south-east Asia such as Bali. Speaking in Sydney on Wednesday, Jetstar chief executive Jayne Hrdlicka said the weaker Australian dollar had shifted "at a moderate level" demand away from destinations such as Hawaii.
