Jetstar parachutes executive Gerry Turner into Japan CEO role

Long-time Jetstar executive Gerry Turner has been appointed the new chief executive of Jetstar Japan, in a move that comes as Qantas Airways tries to prove that its troubled Jetstar Hong Kong joint venture is run independently, rather than as a "branch office of Qantas". Irish-born Mr Turner, a former Ryanair executive who helped launch Jetstar with now Qantas boss Alan Joyce in 2004, will replace Miyuki Suzuki.
