Joan Withers wins leadership award

Mighty River Power chairwoman Joan Withers has won the New Zealand Shareholders Association's annual Beacon Award, becoming the first woman to do so. NZSA chairman John Hawkins said the Beacon is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding governance skills, guiding and leading others, respecting the rules, avoiding self interest and ensuring fair and equitable outcomes for all.
