Federal Resources Minister Josh Frydenberg will seek to encourage further support by Japan for Australia's liquefied natural gas sector in a series of meetings this week, even as the country presses ahead with the restart of nuclear power plants. Mr Frydenberg kicks off his program with talks later on Wednesday with Japan's newly appointed Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Motoo Hayashi, who has the job of overseeing the controversial resumption of nuclear power production after the Fukushima accident in March 2011.
