(Telecompaper) Japanese communications provider KDDI saw its fiscal third quarter profit nearly double to JPY 100.49 billion from JPY 54.22 billion in the year-ago period. Operating revenues for the quarter stood at JPY 969.98 billion, up 7.5 percent year-on-year. Revenues for the personal services segment totalled JPY 744.76 billion, up 8.4 percent, with mobile revenues at JPY 398.17 billion versus JPY 393.53 billion, and fixed-line revenues at JPY 93.63 billion compared with JPY 82.57 billion a year earlier. The VAS segment saw revenues slip 8 percent to JPY 27.31 billion and the business services segment's revenues went up 0.7 percent to JPY 141.63 billion. EBITDA rose 22 percent to JPY 275.94 billion and EBITDA margin improved to 28.4 percent from 25 percent a year earlier. KDDI also revised its full-year forecast and now expects revenues of JPY 3.63 trillion, up from JPY 3.58 trillion forecast previously, and net income is expected at JPY 235 billion, down from the previous forecast of JPY 250 billion.
