(Telecompaper) KPN is launching a subscription video-on-demand service, based on the Videoland Unlimited offering. KPN IPTV customers can subscribe for EUR 10 per month to the unlimited service, from 11 November. Videoland offers around 2,000 films and series from domestic and international producers, including local titles such as 'Iedereen Is Gek Op Jack', 'Divorce', 'Moordvrouw' and 'Baantjer'. The service can be activated over the IPTV user interface, on the customer service website or over the phone. As an introductory offer, customers will get the service free for two months, and after the first paid month, the subscription can be ended at any time. Viodeland competes in the Netherlands with similar services from Netflix and HBO. According to research by the Telecompaper Consumer panel, 11 percent of consumers are interested in a Netflix subscription, compared to 5 percent for Videoland.
