Kenya: Sugar Millers Want Regulations Put in Place to Control Sugar Poaching

Sugar millers are calling for a framework to control sugar poaching and smuggling. Butali and Western Kenya representatives told the house agriculture committee that the regulations will enable them ensure contracted farmers clear their debts before selling their products to other Millers. They are calling on the sugar board to facilitate the Miller's to share lists of farmers contracted to supply sugar.
