Koppers to sell utility pole division; acquires KMG Chemicals

Koppers Inc. today said it is getting out of the utility pole business in the U.S. and acquiring a chemicals distribution business. Downtown-based Koppers, which makes chemicals and wood treatment products, said it reached an agreement to sell its U.S. utility pole business to Cox Industries of South Carolina for an undisclosed price.
