(Telecompaper) LG has officially announced that its new wearable device, the Android Wear-powered LG G Watch R with full 360-degree display, will be officially launched at the upcoming IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin. According to the company, the LG G Watch R will be the world's first watch-style wearable device to feature a circular Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display that takes up 100 percent of the watch face. The 1.3-inch display is viewable in bright sunlight and offers great clarity from any angle, said LG, and the watch also works in up to a meter of water for up to 30 minutes. The screen is encased in a stainless steel frame and comes with an interchangeable calf skin leather strap. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor and 512MB of RAM, and includes 4GB of internal storage, a 410mAh battery and an array of sensors (accelerometer, compass, barometer, gyro). It also comes with a heart rate monitor and a suite of health and fitness apps, as well as smart notifications, easy access to notes, calendar and directions.
