Position Reference 013 You will have the opportunity to be part of the Long Term Data Preservation team supporting activities concerning Heritage Earth Observation EO data and technical documentation preservation, valorization and metadata definition. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Population and management of ESA Space Data Technical Information Preservation Archive SDTIPA Initial appraisal of heritage space data collections Tailoring of the space mission Preserved Data Set Content Tailoring and monitoring of space data maturity matrix Definition and consolidation of the space data records and associated information provenance and context Ingestion of associated information and definition of the relations among the EO missionssensors data records collections and the relevant associated information Facilitate and improve discoverability and accessibility of space mission data and associated information e.g. including DOI assignment ESA SDTIPA and Data Repository performance benchmarking, and test validation of newupdated components Support Historical Missions operations activities through Definition of high level operational requirements for Historical Missions to be applied in ESA contracts Implementation activities according to Historical Missions tailored LTDP guidelines, preservation workflow and other procedures Follow up the implementation of LTDP Historical Missions projects Support transfer from postmission operation phase to LTDP operations phase Support to the Heritage Space Programme Ensure migration of the archived data media refreshment to the most adequate proven technology for data storage LTDP papers preparation and submission to selected conferences Support the definition of LTDP related systems and subsystems developments requirements, provision to and discussion with ESA development teams Attendance to major project reviews and deliverables assessment Technical Working Group meeting attendance and review of deliverables Apply and maintain updated space data preservation and stewardship standards and best practices Support to the Heritage Mission Walkthrough Visits. Others as necessary or as requested by ESA. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a University degree in computer science, data science, geo informatics or a technical field that provides similar competences. You are fluent in English, written and spoken. You have experience in longterm data preservation. The following skills would be highly desirable You have knowledge of ECSS, PMIPMP, ITIL.
