Landstar Appoints New CEO

Landstar System Inc.'s board of directors has appointed James Gattoni as CEO, succeeding Henry Gerkens, who will continue to serve as executive chairman until May 2015. Gattoni will take over his new post effective Dec. 29, and Gerkins will step down as executive chairman during the company's annual shareholder meeting.
