Las Cruces beating suspect charged with attempted murder

LAS CRUCES >> A Dona Ana County man suspected of trying to kill an El Paso Electric customer Thursday morning was arrested after he struck two Las Cruces police officers, according to an LCPD news release. Paul Williams Jr., 51, of the 9700 block of Hondo Road, was charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of battery upon a peace officer, according to the release.
