This month, the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, or A&P, notified its 85 West Milford supermarket employees that they may be out of a job on Nov. 26. Statewide, roughly 3,700 additional employees were also given notice of a potential Thanksgiving holiday layoff that follows the grocery chain's July bankruptcy filing, according to the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development. That filing was the second the Montvale-based owner of stores that include Waldbaum's, SuperFresh, Pathmark, Food Basics, and the Food Emporium has made in the last five years.
