Layoffs on hold for 177 Furniture Brands workers in High Point

Plans by bankrupt St. Louis-based Furniture Brands International Inc. to begin laying off approximately 177 employees this month at a work site in High Point have been put on hold due to a switch in the lead bidder that plans to take over the company's assets.
