Letter: Let frackers fight their own battles, Utah

Why is Gov. Gary Herbert forcing Utah taxpayers to pay for a lawsuit that will allow Utah's oil and gas industry to refuse to follow certain federal regulations , which will diminish protections for the very individuals who must foot the legal bill? The oil and gas companies should be required to tell us what chemicals and carcinogens they're forcing into our ground. Why are the interests of the oil and gas industry being promoted by Utah government over our safety and health? If the oil and gas industry wants to fight the regulations, it should file and pay for the lawsuit itself.
