Solenix is specialized in the provision of highquality software engineering, technical consulting and operations services in the aerospace domain. This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESTEC in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Job Description We are looking for a Mission Performance Chain Engine Engineer to support our client ESTEC and provide support to Earth Observation Projects CHIME and LSTM in the domain of Endtoend E2E Mission Performance covering both mainly software aspects. The E2E performance chain comprises several components scene generator, instrument simulator and instrument data processors. Your duties will include, but not be limited to Operate an uptodate copy of E2E software components in ESTEC to perform specific runs in order to checkrepeat verification and validation procedures provided and ensure proper methods are implemented Extend the test plan to make sensitivity analysis or execute specific test requested by projects in order to monitor instrument performance and to analyse impacts on the mission performance resulting from deviations during the development programme Support reviews of the E2E software components and participate in project meetings Supporting Test Data production and verification Developing any needed software tool to support all the mentioned activities Ensuring that the E2E Mission Performance Simulator chain and its components and algorithms meet the required functionality and performance, taking into account system, instrument, geophysical model and calibrationvalidation facility aspects Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 3 years relevant experience University Master degree in Physics or Engineering or equivalent qualification. A Master degree in Computer Science could be accepted if relevant experience with Earth Observation algorithms is demonstrated. A firsthand experience and proficiency in the development of numerical modelling software preferably using compiled languages CCJava, development environments and using the Unix operating system. Familiarity with highperformance computing environment such as GPU and cloud processing Good familiarity with computer programs such as Matlab, Python or IDL. Background knowledge of the problematics involved in Earth Observation modelling. A system viewpoint with the ability and willingness to assess the impact that each element brings to the overall mission performance. Proficiency in English language spoken and written is essential. Desirable Skills and Experience Knowledge of specific tools such as image analysis tools is considered a plus.
