Liberty Global considers Kabel Deutschland bid - report

(Telecompaper) Liberty Global is considering making a takeover bid for German cable network operator Kabel Deutschland Holding, reports Bloomberg citing two unnamed sources familiar with the matter. No decision has been made and Liberty is aware that any approach would raise anti-trust concerns as it already controls the second largest cable company in Germany. Kabel Deutschland has also recently been reported a takeover target for Vodafone Group. Robin Bienenstock, analyst with Sanford C. Bernstein, said that a deal between Kabel Deutschland and Liberty Global would put Vodafone under more pressure and reduce its options in the German market.
