Line buys Microsoft's MixRadio

(Telecompaper) Line Corporation has agreed to buy MixRadio, a free personal music streaming service, from Microsoft for an undisclosed amount. Line said MixRadio had millions of listeners across 31 countries. MixRadio will continue to collaborate with Microsoft, providing a personalised music experience as a third party service on Lumia smartphones. MixRadio has already begun expansion across new devices and platforms such as home audio and wearables. It also recently launched its own recommendation engine. The development and management team at MixRadio will join the new company, and continue to be headquartered in Bristol, the UK.
