The long-awaited draft environmental study on closing a 4.5-mile gap of the 710 Freeway from Alhambra to Pasadena is expected to be released this morning, said Lauren Wonder, chief of media relations for Caltrans. In March 2011, Caltrans and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority began studying the environmental impacts of a proposed tunnel that would extend the end of the freeway at Valley Boulevard to the 210 Freeway in West Pasadena via a tunnel.
