Lawsky, superintendent at the New York State Department of Financial Services, examines the painting 'Portrait of a Man,' lost as a result of Nazi persecution and returned to its rightful heir, at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, New York, May 5, 2015. NEW YORK - A 17th-century painting that was looted by the Nazis from a prominent Jewish art curator in Munich and ended up at the Louvre in Paris is being returned to the heirs of its rightful owner.
