Los Angeles OKs downtown bike-sharing program

City News Service says the City Council signed off Friday on a two-year test program to field 1,000 bikes beginning next year. The agreement with the county's Metropolitan Transportation Authority would create 65 bike-sharing stations in the downtown area.
