MTA requests $300M from feds to boost L train capacity

L train ridership is up 98% since 1998, and the MTA has asked the feds for $300 million to increase service. Brooklyn is so hip that the MTA is seeking $300 million from the federal government to increase service on the jam-packed L train, officials said on Friday.
