Maine to study statistics of violent deaths

Maine will get nearly $1 million from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to gather data on violent deaths in the state. Attorney General Janet Mills says the money will allow the state to gather data using the National Violent Death Reporting System over the next five years.
