RHEA is currently recruiting a Meteorological Product Software Engineer to work in the Atmospheric and Imagery Applications group AIA at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. AIA is part of the Remote Sensing and Products Division and its role is to develop, implement, validate and evolve operational observational products. Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Analysing, supporting the design, operational implementation and validation of new as well as updated product algorithms Analysis and resolution of anomalies relating to the product generation software. Preparation of technical notes on product implementation issues Development, maintenance and update of product generation monitoring software and the corresponding database Monitoring and operating the product generation facilities Visualisation and analysis of geophysical products Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience A university degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, remote sensing or equivalent, At least 5 years of experience in operational product generation from satelliteremote sensing data. Validation of geophysical products from satellite data. Algorithm software development using FORTRAN 9095 in a Unix environment Implementation of scientific algorithms from a given specification Source code control systems, preferably Subversion Anomaly correction and configuration management processes Python and IDL programming languages Common meteorological data formats, like BUFR, CAP, GRIB, HDF5, and netCDF UnixLinux operating systems The following skills would be highly desirable. Relational databases using SQL Algorithm software development using CC programming language Authoring clear and concise technical documentation How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
