The ITC "has found no violation of section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 [so] the investigation is terminated," the commission concluded. The battle dates back to 2007, when patent holder InterDigital Communications Corp. filed a complaint that said Nokia's importation and sale of "certain 3G mobile handsets and components thereof" infringed on a handful of its patents.
