(Telecompaper) Microsoft has confirmed that the US Department of Commerce has approved its application to export "mass-market software" to Huawei following the recent trade ban on sales to the Chinese tech giant. "On 20 November, the US Department of Commerce granted Microsoft's request for a licence to export mass-market software to Huawei. We appreciate the Department's action in response to our request," a Microsoft spokesman told Reuters via email. The confirmation comes shortly after US President Donald Trump said some suppliers would be permitted to restart sales to Huawei, which was added to the Entity List of banned companies over security concerns around 6 months ago.
