Microsoft gives Skylake a one-year reprieve, will support Windows 7 through 2017

Microsoft has backed down from its plans to kill Skylake support for Windows 7 by the middle of next year. Instead, it will continue to provide security updates through 2020 and will support shipping systems with Windows 7 until mid-2018.
