(Telecompaper) Microsoft has released a 'tap to pay' feature in its latest update to Windows 10 Mobile. The feature is part of the Microsoft Wallet app and allows customers to use their Windows smartphone to pay at the point of sale. It will be available initially in the US with the Lumia 950, 950 XL and 650, and usable in over a million retail locations with contactless terminals. The Microsoft Wallet app can also store a range of loyalty and customer cards and facilitates payments across Microsoft services such as Xbox, Office and Windows. Microsoft works with Mastercard and Visa and a range of banks and credit unions to support the Wallet app. The 'tap to pay' feature is initially available to 'Windows Insiders' testing the latest build of the operating system.
