Microwave Instrument Engineer J 2999 Summary An opportunity for an experienced Microwave Engineer to work for Telespazio VEGA onsite at ESTEC. Objective To support the Microwave Instruments Section for Earth Observation Missions. Responsibilities Duties The duties will include but not limited to Developmentacquisition, validation and maintenance of performance assessment tools for various spaceborne microwave instruments encompassing both active radars and passive radiometers instruments Technical support to the assessment of the instrument performance Technical support to translation of missionobservation requirements to instrument requirements improvement and maintenance of data processing tools. Qualifications Experience MSc in electrical engineering or physics with background microwave engineering or electromagnetics theory. Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team within the boundaries of assigned tasks and a stringent schedule. First experience in instrument system and performance modeling as well as digital signal processing techniques. Understanding of the modeling of wave interactions with the atmosphere and surface scattering. Good familiarity with programming languages and computer programs such as Python, MatLAB, ADS, Excel, etc. Practical experience relevant to the task described above is an asset. Qualities Be able to function as part of a team A proactive and flexible attitude will be required An ability to work independently and to establish good working relations Further Details All roles within Telespazio VEGA have a defined closing date, however if a successful candidate is found before the advert expires the role will be closed early.
