Job description For our customer, the European Space Agency ESA, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Microwave RF Engineer to work at ESAs ESTEC establishment in Noordwijk, in the Netherlands. Responsibilities You will be assigned to the Radio Frequency Equipment Technology Section within the Directorate of Technology Quality Engineering. The position tasks include Contribute to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF technologies applicable to space and ground segments, with particular emphasis on active RF equipment and components HPAs, LNAs, TR modules, etc. in MMIC and hybrid forms Provide expert technical support to ESA projects and programmes Contribute to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Define technical requirements and statements of work for the tasks to be performed by industry from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contribute to the developmentusage of the Sections related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Maintain stateoftheart expertise by interacting with research Institutes, monitoring the technological trends and applying them in the daytoday work The requested start of work is 1st September 2018. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a Masters degree in Microwave or RF Electronics Engineering. Essential skills are Extensive and proven experience in the domain of microwave components, equipment andor technologies. A minimum of 4 years of working experience on active RF equipment, components and technologies Good background on RF equipment and technologies for space applications. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing, with excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills Ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities and projects simultaneously. Additional assets are Experience with RD activities and technology development programmes. Familiarity with the applicable space standards ECSS series.
