Job Description On behalf of the European Space Agency ESA, we are looking for a MicrowaveMmWave Technology and Equipment Engineer for their location in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, to join their Radio Frequency Equipment Techniques Section. Please note this is an external consultant position not a Staff position. Tasks and Responsibilities Contribute to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF equipment and technologies applicable to space and ground segments Provide expert technical support to ESA projects and programmes Development of test beds and characterization of RF EquipmentPayloads, such as Time frequency equipment e.g. clocks, oscillators, control units, frequency converters RF active equipment e.g. high power amplifier, low noise amplifier, MMICs, TransmitReceive modules RF passive equipment e.g. filters, switches, ferrite devices RF Payloads for GNSS, Telecom, EO or Science applications Microwave and mmwave test beds Life and TVAC test beds. Development of software e.g. Lab View for automated testing, control and monitoring of RF performance Contribute to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Define technical requirements and statements of work for the tasks to be performed by industry from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contribute to the developmentusage of section related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Maintain stateoftheart expertise by monitoring the technological trends and applying them in the daytoday tasks. Requirements Master or PhD in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunication engineering with at least 4 years of relevant experience Good background on development of RF equipment and technologies for space applications Several years of experience in the field of testing of RF equipment and RF payloads for space applications Project skills and management of RD contracts The following are considered strong assets Extensive and proven experience in the domain of microwave components, equipment andor technologies Contributing to the design, development and performance evaluation of RF technologies applicable to space and ground segments, including Specification, development and procurement of RF equipment and subsystems Linearnonlinear, circuit and electromagnetic modelling and simulation Device, module, equipment performance evaluation and characterization. Providing expert technical support to projects and programmes Contributing to the generation of innovative ideas in the field of RF equipment and technologies and to the definition of ESA RD programmes Defining technical requirements for the new developments from early conceptual studies to full hardware development Contributing the to the developmentusage of section related laboratory facilities and analysissimulation tools Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends For candidates with less than 10 years experience, please provide the relevant academic transcripts in order to give the TRs a more complete candidate profile at the selection stage.
