JOB DESCRIPTION Mission Analysis Support Responsibilities Duties Tasks The Mission Analysis Section MAS is a unit integrated in the Flight Dynamics Division of ESOC. Mission analysis activities in MAS address all those aspects of a mission which are related to the launch or the orbit of a satellite and to some extent also to the attitude of a satellite. A few typical tasks are the following Launcher requirements Analysis of launcher trajectory and launcher performance Tradeoffs for the selection of the operational orbit Launch window analysis Short and longterm orbit evolution Lifetime calculation Orbit manoeuvres and navigation Accuracy of orbit determination Parameter estimation Calculation of propellant budgets Lowthrust trajectory optimization Analysis of geometrical events groundstation visibility, eclipse, sky coverage Operations planning and scheduling Qualifications Aerospace Engineer, Mathematician,Physicist Required knowledge In order to carry out the tasks the contractor staff must have a higher academic degree in the relevant technical disciplines mathematics, physics, space engineering. with an excellent background in the following fields numerical and analytical methods of applied mathematics classical mechanics and celestial mechanics software engineering and computer sciences. All staff need to have a good knowledge of the English language all communications are conducted in English, all documentation to be read and to be written is in English. It is mandatory that the staff has experience in scientific programming in FORTRAN, MATLAB and UNIX operating system. Experience Experience is important but not essential Applicants should also be able to work effectively, both in a team setting and autonomously. WHAT DO WE OFFER?
