Moreover, we actively manage your professional development, training and career progression. For the location in Darmstadt Germany we are looking for an Mission Control Applications Engineer. Tasks RoutineCorrective Maintenance Tasks Support corrective maintenance, involving investigations into approved anomalies AR and enhancements ECP, implementation and testing of corrections Update and maintain a set of standard documents with each software delivery reflecting changes and improvements made if any with particular attention to the verification test plan, architectural design, interface control documents, user guides and any other identifiedaffected relevant document Takeover responsibility for routine delivery verification, in particular for coordinating the production of the release note, verification procedures, verification test report and, in overall, support conduction and execution of verification tests Review, update and maintain Operational baseline documentation covered by the maintenance activity Overall consultancy for the Operational endusers of the maintained applications software Contribute to the preparation and provision of training material covering usage and maintenance aspects of the application software EngineeringEvolution Tasks Actively contribute to the analysis of the porting of some subsystems to stateoftheart technologies, tradeoff studies of various technologies, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes Generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenancedriven software requirements, generation of the corresponding engineering change proposals, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes Development andor enhancement of the verification infrastructure covering the development andor procurement of scriptstools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software Actively contribute to the evolution ofthe Service and Configuration Management Tools used at Competence Area CA level to support, planning and tracking of performed teams activities Facilitate as much as possible, the handover of acquired responsibilities to other team members in accordance and as regulated by the Team Leader Actively contribute to the definition, implementations and configuration of the MCAT Continuous Integration and Configuration Management tools and applications Essential requirements University degree, or equivalent, in related disciplines Experience in software development and maintenance following formal software lifecycle processes resulting in multiple customer deliveries covering production of requirements, design engineering artefacts and implementation reflecting corrective and evolution software maintenance activities as well as new applications definition Experience in verification and validation process and expertise of supporting testing campaigns and related activities test procedure generation, nonregression testing, requirements verification and validation Extensive experience minimum 5 years in designing and developing software components and applications using Object Oriented 00 approach including design patterns Extensive experience minimum 5 years designing and developing software components and applications using C, Java and scripting languages under both Windows and Linux platforms Experience with formal software development environments like Eclipse IDE and Microsoft Visual Studio Experience in using Configuration Management and Anomaly Reporting and Tracking tools Desirable requirements Expertise in the definition, development and maintenance of Mission Control Functions software applications with focus on development whole life cycle for typical MC applications covering aspects like TM!fC, Automation schedule and procedure execution, Operations Preparation, etc ... Knowledge and understanding with working experience evidence of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS related to spacetoground interfaces Knowledge of ESA mission control software products, such as MICONYS suite e.g. SCOS2000, NIS, EDDS, GFTS, etc ... Spacecraft andor TTC GSt simulation environmentssystems e.g SIMSAT, TEVALIS Experience with MC systems and related user requirementsneeds for GEO missions software support to users and in general to Flight Control Teams Work experience in a 247 operational environment characterised by high availability needs. This includes experience with oncall support to operational systems Experience developing interacting middleware components and applications usmg CORBA Experience with scripting languages e.g. Python, PHP, Unix Shell scripts, etc ... Experience developing software components and applications making use of Web Applications technologies client and server side Tomcat, Javascript, HTML5
