For our activities at EUMETSAT, we are looking for a Mission Control System Software Engineer for the Sentinel3 mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission to support services relating to the marine and global land environment, with capability to serve further atmospheric and cryosphericbased application areas. The objectives of the Sentinel3 mission encompass the commitment to consistent, longterm collection of remotely sensed marine and land data, of uniform quality, for operational ocean state analysis, forecasting and service provision, in the context of the Copernicus Services as set up by the European Commission. Tasks The Mission Control System Software Engineer MCSE shall provide prime support to the evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Copernicus Sentinel3 Mission Control System. The MCSE shall perform maintenance and evolution activities of the Mission Control System and shall execute and coordinate the software verification and nonregression testing. The EUMETSAT Copernicus Sentinel3 Mission Control System is built from MICONYS components, like SCOS2000, FARC, PARC, etc... Qualifications and Requirements A University degree or equivalent plus 2 to 4 years of experience Three years of experience in the software maintenance and evolution of Satellite Mission Control Systems based on MICONYS software suite from ESAESOC. In particular experience in all the following MICONYS components is considered mandatory o SCOS2000, o SLE API, o FARC, o PARC o NIS. Three years of experience in space related standards ECSS and CCSDS concerning spacetoground interfaces and applicable to Satellite Mission Control Systems such as o ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard PUS o CCSDS Space Packet Protocol SPP o CCSDS Space Link Extension Protocol SLE. Developing and maintaining software applications using objectoriented technologies, Unified Modelling Language UML for software design and CASE design tools Developing and maintaining software applications using ODBCJDBC bridges and programmatic interfaces to MySQL RDBMS.
