(Telecompaper) Saudi operator Mobily and Huawei announced the activation of the first commercial 400 Gbps IP core network in the world. The route supports Mobily's 3G, LTE and FTTH users. Huawei's core router NE5000E supports flexible networking of 100GE ports, 40GE ports and 10GE ports to provide a 400G capacity and can be evolved to provide Terabit-level capacity for the backbone network. In addition, power consumption of the 400G line card is within 1 W/G, keeping energy and investment costs low.
