Moody's says Devon layoffs in Oklahoma are 'credit negative'

A national debt rating agency says layoffs at Devon Energy Corporation are a "credit negative" for Oklahoma City because of the impact of job losses on its economic growth rate. In its weekly credit outlook for public finance released on Friday, Moody's Investor's Service notes that Oklahoma City's economy is more diverse since the oil bust in the 1980s, but still dependent on the energy sector.
