(Telecompaper) Motorola has announced that its new US-made Moto X smartphone will become available at the end of August or early September in the US, Canada and Latin America. The LTE-compatible Moto X has a 4.7-in screen and features Touchless Control, which enables users to check the weather or get travel directions, for example, by using voice commands. Its Active Display feature means that information will appear on the screen automatically, so that users do not have to wake it up to see their messages or check the time. Two quick twists of the wrist can engage the 10 megapixel camera function, with the picture captured by touching anywhere in the screen. In the US, woven black and woven white models will be available from AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, Verizon Wireless, and national retailers for USD 199 on new two-year contracts. Customers will be able to buy it directly from Motorola.com for all carriers, including T-Mobile.
