U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security adopted Payne amendment, which is backed by NEMA and will result in assessment of actions needed to expand and strengthen capabilities of electrical power system to prepare for, respond to, mitigate, and recover from natural disaster or cyberattack. Specifically, amendment directs National Research Council to conduct study on resiliency and reliability of USA's power grid and related issues.
