NGO study finds harsh conditions at factory making Amazon devices

(Telecompaper) The latest report from NGO China Labor Watch has put the spotlight on working conditions at a factory in China that makes Kindles, Echo Dots and tablets for Amazon. China Labor Watch said that the investigation into factory Hengyang Foxconn was its first into an Amazon supplier. Foxconn responded to the report by saying it will investigate labour conditions at the China factory, and will take immediate action if the findings of the report are found to be true, Reuters reported. A previous report by the NGO uncovered poor factory conditions and other rights violations at Catcher Technology, which makes casings for Apple iPhones.
