During its annual Innovation and Technology Transfer Awards ceremony, NREL recognized professionals behind greatest innovations from past year. Also, NREL celebrated 43 U.S. patents issued – largest in lab history and near 3X previous year – in fiscal year 2014. Min Zhang was named Distinguished Innovator, while Rising Star awards winners included Chuck Booten, who works in buildings and thermal systems, and John Simon, who works in materials applications and performance.
