(Telecompaper) NTT Com has agreed to buy a majority stake in France-based mobile virtual network enabler Transatel. The acquisition enables the NTT subsidiary to strengthen its position in the IoT market. Transatel has since 2012 diversified its strategy to provide eSIM connectivity to consumer devices, agreeing distribution deals with global brands including Microsoft and Dell. In recent years, it has also broadened its product range to address the markets of connected vehicles and industrial IoT applications. In addition, the company has a track record of over 170 successful client MVNO launches.
