Napster moves into 14 more European countries

(Telecompaper) Subscription music streaming service Napster, a Rhapsody International subsidiary, has extended its presence to 14 more European countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands. It is already available in the UK and Germany. For EUR 9.95 per month, users will have access to unlimited web and mobile streaming both on and offline. Music fans will have access to more than 20 million songs through connected audio systems, smartphones, tablets and much more. The service is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android smartphones and tablets. Rhapsody president Jon Irwin told Bloomberg that Napster has around 1 million subscribers in the US, UK and Germany at present, and that it aims to take the figure to at least 5 million in three years.
