Suited for network security applications, CAR-2050 supports Intel® Atom™ C2000 (Rangeley) processor SoCs, processor scalability from 2–8 cores, and Intel QuickAssist Technology function. Max power consumption with 8-core configurations is 20 W, and appliance supports 2 swappable Portwell NIC modules, 2 standard NICs, two 3.5 in. or four 2.5 in. HDD, and 4 DDR3 w/ECC long DIMM sockets. Hardware-based crypto acceleration (encryption/decryption) and bypass function are also standard.
