Objective Support the EO Network and Security Officer in Networking and Security activities related to the existing EOP Network and the different MissionProgramme under preparation or already under operations. The requested support covers the assessment, evolution and modification of the Earth Observation Network and Security infrastructures, the support to the network and security operations for running services, and assistance to new missions during the different planned project phases with particular attention to the AIV phase. Activity input Network and security documentation, policies and standards, PDGS projects documentation as required by the tasks to be performed Activity output Periodic report Contribution to the different requested document e.g. Requirements document, Implementation Plan, Policies etc.. Participation and management as needed of reviews and teleconferences Presentations for project reviews, advisory meetings, Reviewed and corrected project deliverables for formal approval Security Delta Service Request Assessment and followup Network and Security Architecture design Activity tasks The following tasks shall be performed by the contractor Support the definition of network and security requirements, countermeasures design, deployment, integration, testing and related operations of new missionsprojects Bring innovation to the basic infrastructure by investigating emerging technologies that enhance the network and security infrastructure and the corresponding portfolio of services. Study new architectures applicable to the Earth Observation Network and Security infrastructure and optimization of the use of resources deployed Support the migration to a multi mission network architecture, in compliance with the agreed Mission and System requirements, including security issues, and considering the internal and external interfaces Provide supporting analysis and documentation in the framework of its activities Deliver reports, procedure and other requested documentation Performance measurement The performance of the contractor shall be assessed on the basis of Good relations established with project partners. Delivery performed in linein time with the project requirements and schedule Documents generated at the dates required by the project milestones and internal plans Documents reviewed prior to review meetings Documents of sufficient quality to pass review cycle. Reporting in linein time with the schedule Activity required skills Applicants shall have the following key skills University degree or equivalent qualification in Telecommunication Engineering with experience in Network and Security Architecture Design, Operational Network Services Project Management Several years of experience and a significant industrial background in one or more of the following domains communications, security design, specification and procurement of services from the market, secure operations, telecommunication systems design including substantial experience in Earth Observation missions ground segment engineering. Good understanding of networks and services WAN, LAN, email, name server applications, etc., security architectures e.g. virtual private networks, strongauthentication mechanisms, intrusion detection and prevention, content inspection, firewall, familiarity with the latest generation of network and security methodology and technologies and knowledge of the research and education networks. Familiarity with most relevant security standards, including ISO27000 and Common criteria. Team working and proactive attitude to solving problems Relevant security or networking certifications for the scope of work package. Cisco certifications CCNA, CCDA, CCIE, CCNP are considered an asset. Network Local Area Networking LAN, Wide Area Networking WAN technologies Internet Protocols such as TCPIP, UDP, RIP, OSPF, BGP, SIP, SNMP, IPSec, SSL, TLS The post may require a security clearance.
