It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a Network and System Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. The successful applicant will join the Bid Support Project Management department and will be the design authority for networks and communication systems, either sold to customers or installed in our own teleports. This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognised authorities. As a member of the Engineering team, you will also be in charge of the following activities Managing all architecture aspects of endtoend communication solutions, which includes the general design of IT and transmission subsystems Being involved in all project phases from presales to configuration testing, including participation in deployment and support for operation Managing development projects smallmedium sized either Customer or RDfocused. The position may develop to include management of a subpart of the engineering team 2 internal staff and 2 or 3 consultants. You will be involved in the level 2 onduty team periodically, one week onduty 4 times a year and scheduled evening operations. This role will involve travel for business in France and abroad including possibly risky countries under security coverage in Airbus Group standard once a month and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Engineering degree or equivalent 10 years of experience in IT engineering activities which has enabled you to gain a wide knowledge of IP and communication technologies Experience in project management Ideally Expertise in overall communication design network, radio communication, IT provisioning, billing, operation subsystems Indepth knowledge of MPLS technologies solutions layer 2 and layer 3 services, VPN design and configuration, traffic engineering Security and IP QoS technologies classification, queuing and shaping mechanisms Skills in total cost of ownership assessment of a communication system Methodical Management and leadership skills Rigorous, good ability to communicate with various interfaces customers, operation team Ability to synthesize, good writing skills docs, ppt, clarity Autonomous Negotiation level of French and advanced level of English.
