Just because Nintendo recently filed a patent for software emulators doesn't necessarily mean the company is changing its Nintendo-only stance for its library of games. It took until the Nintendo Wii for the company to finally come to the conclusion that there are a number of people out there who enjoy playing classic Nintendo games.
