New Study Shows the Rate of Drug Approvals Lower than Previously Reported

Nature Biotechnology has published peer-reviewed paper co-authored by BIO Industry Analysis and BioMedTracker, highlighting results of a study showing that overall success rate for drugs moving through clinical trials to FDA approval from late 2003 to the end of 2011 is near 1 in 10, while reports from earlier years showed rate of drug approvals to be 1 in 5 to 1 in 6.
