New car sales, affordability hit highs

The best affordability in a generation, end of financial year deals and a post-budget lift in business spending have driven record sales of new cars. New car sales hit an all-time high with 125,850 sold in June, a 6.4 per cent increase on a year earlier, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries said on Friday.
