New extraction system increases production for Hawaii's Cyanotech

Cyanotech Corp. has has started operations for its new astaxanthin extraction system at the company's 90 acre production facility in Kailua-Kona, on Hawaii's Big Island. Astaxanthin, a microalgae-based dietary supplement, has historically been harvested at Cyanotech's Kailua-Kona location, shipped to the U.S. Mainland or New Zealand for production, then returned to Hawaii.
